What can I expect during laser hair removal?

Dr. Hensley's team develops an individualized laser hair removal treatment plan during your initial consultation. The specifics of your treatment depend on the area of your body undergoing laser hair removal and your skin type.

To ease discomfort, Dr. Hensley's team may apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area before starting your session. The team will then place the laser tool over your skin, activates the device, and methodically moves the laser over the treatment area to get the desired results. 

Laser hair removal treatment time varies. For small areas of skin, such as your upper lip, treatment may take less than 15 minutes. For larger areas, such as your back, your session may take an hour or more.

There’s no downtime following laser hair removal, but Dr. Hensley's team recommends you protect your treated skin from the sun with clothing or sunscreen. 

How many laser hair removal treatments do I need?

Hair grows in cycles and you will need a series of laser hair removal sessions to get the best results. The number of sessions depends on the area undergoing treatment. Most patients need 3-7 sessions set at 1-3 month intervals.
