What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a cosmetic treatment that induces collagen production. Collagen is a structural protein found in your dermal layer of skin. As you get older, collagen production decreases, which contributes to the development of lines and wrinkles. 

During your microneedling treatments, Dr. Hensley's team uses a special tool with tiny needles that creates microtears in the surface layer of your skin. These microtears simulate an injury that triggers your skin’s natural healing powers, which includes an increase in collagen production. 

What does microneedling treat?

Microneedling treats many skin concerns. Metroplex Dermatology specializes in cosmetic and general dermatology and may recommend the natural cosmetic treatment to:

What is Secret RF?

Secret RF combines the powers of microneedling with radiofrequency energy to dramatically improve your look.

During your Secret RF microneedling treatment, Dr. Hensley's team places the microneedling tool on your skin. Like microneedling, the tool creates tiny puncture wounds in the surface layer.

The tiny needles also deliver radiofrequency energy to the deeper layers of your skin. The heat contracts the tissue, which instantly lifts and tightens your skin. 

The radiofrequency energy also activates collagen production to prolong the effects.

How many microneedling sessions do I need?

Though you may notice improvements in your look after your first microneedling session, you may need a series of treatments for optimal results. 

Dr. Hensley's team creates individualized microneedling treatment plans based on your specific beauty goals, skin needs, and microneedling device.  

With the SkinPen, Dr. Hensley's team may recommend three sessions set at 30-day intervals. For Secret RF treatments, Dr. Hensley's team may recommend 3-4 sessions set at 4-6-week intervals.
